Call and Response: Conversations of Viola, Cello and Dance

Our second salon was a celebration of unexpected combinations of music, paired with contemporary dance and ballet performance.

While viola is not typically performed as a solo instrument, expert violist Alexandra Simpson transposed unique pieces to blend beautifully with James Jaffe's melodious cello to create a conversation between these two instruments, while dancer and choreographers Katie and Alex Roy expressed this work through contemporary ballet.

Bach, Guitar and Fashion

Thank you to all who came to our inaugural Salon Nr. 1! You lit up the Verdi Club with enthusiastic support for our artists, Leslie Rabine, fashion scholar, and Juri Yun, Guitar. Leslie set the stage by taking us on a journey through music and how fashion changed with it over time. Juri then played Bach and other works with his impressive artistic skills. We hope you enjoyed meeting with other guests at the buffet before the performances and exchanging with the artists over dessert afterward!
